Busy, busy.

Just thought I’d share because we should all be supporting free speech, freedom of the press, and whistleblowers and watchdog groups who are often the only ones exposing cruelty to animals, exposing unsafe practices, and keeping Corporate America and our government accountable.

I’m about to give you ways to help me do just that!

You might know that I’m a plaintiff in two lawsuits to keep America free. Continue reading

In Chicagoland? Announcing Sunday Night Sessions

If you are in the Chicago area and care about justice and equality for the LGBTQIA community, please consider joining us at the OutJustice offices on Sunday nights (or a Sunday now and then!). We network, work on projects both big and small, and we build our support for survivors of violence and discrimination both here and nationally. You are invited and we need you.

The OutJustice Foundation

On Sunday evenings, OutJustice is the place to be.

If you are in the Chicago area and would like to get more involved with OutJustice, we’re making it even easier.

Sunday evenings from 7 PM until 9 PM we meet at our West side offices (near N. Western and W. Belmont).

You’re invited!

The topics and themes vary from week to week. Sometimes we merely want to get to know each other a little better. To learn what we will be doing and discussing on a particular evening, contact Daniel at 312-650-9210.

Many of our initial evenings will include a brief orientation on OutJustice: our programming, volunteer opportunities, and other ways to support our work advocating visibility and integrity for the LGBTQIA community in the face of injustice.

Discrimination and violence toward our community have a long history. We must band together and let those who use hateful words…

Bill & Lou Need Your Voice – Use It Now!

A college. An agribusiness program/project that uses animals as things rather than the sentient individuals who they are. The individuals? Two cows – Bill and Lou.

Conflicting stories as to their fate – from the same institution telling the stories, all representatives of the college and the affiliated farm. And a group of concerned citizens who wish to know the truth.

New York Times photo: “Baylee Drown, the assistant manager at Green Mountain College’s farm, with Bill, one of the college’s two oxen that [sic] are scheduled to be slaughtered this month [October 2012].”

I am among that group of people. And I hope you’ll join me in urging Green Mountain College to be upfront in what it did with Bill and Lou – two cows whose fates were in the hands of the institution’s administrators. Their plight raised an international outcry. The school planned on sending them to slaughter and serve them to the students – yep, you heard me right. You might even recall that story as I remember it. Then school officials said they wouldn’t. Then Bill and Lou disappeared. Now sources within the school (Green Mountain College’s Cerridwen Farm) allege that Bill and Lou were sent to slaughter anyway. Wouldn’t surprise me even though that action would/will (?) stomp all over Green Mountain student body’s belief in its school administration’s integrity.

Over 3 million voices were heard in 2012 before their deaths – make yours heard today.

Chelsea Deserves Our Support.

Don't Ask, Don't Tell

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. After years of suffering under bigoted laws, now the government wishes to be further assholes? No, U.S. Gov. Fix what you’ve done and be the “bigger person” (but recognize you’ve not been bigger by just doing what’s right to do – supporting Chelsea Manning). Thank you. Photo credit: Umpqua.

Hey U.S. Government!

Look what happens when you deny rights and then actually slam someone who has been holding YOU accountable. Now you get to pay for the medical treatment that you are trying to squirm out of. Shame on the U.S. Military for this one.

Get it right. Stand behind Chelsea and be the “bigger man.” ha. Guess you’re hiding behind fear again. Let’s see …

Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell?

Check.

Marriage Equality?

Errrrm. No.

Trans Concerns?

Big Fat Zero = Failed.

Please rework your policies and bring them by my office in the next few days. Thanks.

Help a Victim of Violence Today

Image

Three men gay bashed Daniel Hauff on January 10, 2010 after he stepped in to assist their first victim. He then became the target of their hate. All three men were acquitted of their crime.

Help Spread Compassion and OutJustice’s Anti-Violence Programming by sharing the social networking tools currently in use. Our mission is to advocate visibility and integrity for the LGBTQIA Community in the face of injustice.

The organization formed to assist me after I was gay bashed in 2010. We could use your support. Thank you.
